6S Boutique
6S Boutique is LGBT owned and operated. 6S has proudly been a part of St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area since February 2011. With sass and class, open, loving hearts and minds, we happily serve our more than 3000 diverse, eclectic, creative, and beautiful customers. At 6S Boutique you’ll find 3 lines of professional makeup, wigs, eyelashes and accessories. We dreamed of a place where people from all walks of life can come into a safe, clean and fun environment and feel comfortable with one another and supportive of each other, regardless of who you are. We are thrilled to say that we have seen compassion, empathy, community, love and acceptance from all our customers, it’s beautiful and inspiring.
6S Boutique is keenly aware of the need and importance of community and we strive to be active within our community. Andrew and Sasha Citino, owners of 6S boutique, stood alongside other community members, in front of the Pinellas County Commissioners meeting in August 2013, to advocate for gender identity protections in public accommodations which passed! Between 2010 and 2013, Andrew and Sasha were leaders on the fund-raising committee for the then FTM Fund, a program under TransAction Florida, which assisted transgender men in receiving financial assistance for top surgeries. We successfully raised funds with events such as Visibility Calendar, Gender Redux and Diversity on the Runway which enabled 3 transgender men from our local community to receive their top surgeries which then, were not covered by insurance. From 2012 thru present day, Andrew and Sasha are members of a local group that organizes and hosts the annual St. Pete Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). Over the last 7 years the attendance of St. Pete TDOR has grown from an average of 10 people to 140+, from a small gathering in a small room to a candle light vigil to the steps of St. Pete’s City Hall with speakers like the Mayor of St. Pete, city council members and many trans men and women of our community. While we will continue to organize TDOR for St. Pete annually, we hope and wish for the day when there is no longer a need for such an event.
6S Boutique is a safe place for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families and a place where you can find information on resources within our community for LGBTQ+ members. We receive many “Thank you’s” from LGBTQ+ customers and parents of LGBTQ+ kids for 6S simply being here and having a comfortable and fun place to shop. We are personally silent supporters to individuals within our community and 6S Boutique, the business, gives back in any way we can by providing gift baskets or certificates for charitable organizations and other local community events, supporting organizations such as Metro, St. Pete Pride, CASA, Gibbs Theatre program, St. Pete’s TDOR, Eckerd College Pride Week Kickoff or simply using our voices and experience on panels/town halls related to transgender issues.
