How does a girl from a tiny waterfront town in Australia’s northern territory rise to become a multi-platinum award-winning recording artist, amass countless fans around the globe, and form her very own record label?

For VASSY, it all boils down to attitude…

The powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, producer, and KMV record label founder fearlessly followed her dreams in the face of all obstacles and accomplished the seemingly impossible on her own terms. That spirit of defiance defined her approach from day one—and always will.

“Dreams keep us alive,” explains VASSY. “I never had a ‘Plan B,’ so I just stuck to ‘Plan A.’ I am a believer that if you want something, you’ve got to visualize it, and it will happen. I want to encourage my fans to dream and believe.”

The first song VASSY released reached #1 on National Radio in Australia and quickly attracted a fan base that respected her down-to-earth personality. Relocating to the States, her success translated to North America, and she quietly entrenched herself into the world of electronic dance music, establishing herself as one of the genre’s most ubiquitous and unique voices.

In 2014, VASSY joined forces with David Guetta and Showtek on the global smash “Bad.” The single ascended to #1 in over 20 countries, received 14 international platinum certifications, clocked over 1 billion streams, and garnered her a Best Featured Vocalist Performance Award at the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA). The single was certified gold by the RIAA in America.

Maintaining this momentum, she collaborated with Tiësto and KSHMR on the 2015 anthem “Secrets,” which earned six platinum and two gold certifications, reached the #1 spot in over 24 countries, and won an IDMA for Best Electro Progressive/House Track. Co-produced by Tiësto, the solo single “Nothing To Lose” followed, and hit #1 on Billboard. She teamed up with Afrojack for “LOST” earning her fourth #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Charts.

Taking her career into her own hands, VASSY formed the imprint KMV (Kiss My VASSY) in 2018 that subsequently entered into a joint venture with RED MUSIC, a label division of Sony Music Entertainment.

“I value authenticity and being true to who I am as an artist,” she exclaims. “I’ve always wanted to have my own record label. That’s where the name KMV came from—it stands for ‘Kiss My VASSY.’ I believe rejections are redirections and I never fit into a box. I tell all of my fans that if someone doesn’t like you, just tell them to ‘Kiss My VASSY!’ It’s a declaration of being who you are–be proud!”

She ignited this next chapter of her career with the empowerment anthem “Doomsday” that continued her streak of #1s on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart and inspired her fans to keep going—even in their darkest hour.

“I’m living proof that dreams do come true,” she leaves off. “Now, it’s time for me to encourage others to bring their dreams to life.”
VASSY’s music has been heard in global television campaigns for brands like Victoria’s Secret, Nike, and Pepsi and her single “We Are Young” was featured in the film trailers for Disney’s Academy Award-winning blockbuster Frozen and Tina Fey’s Admission. She’s become a mainstay act at major EDM festivals around the world including Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, Belgium’s Tomorrowland, New York’s Electric Zoo, and Australia’s Stereosonic.

Outside of music, VASSY has supported and collaborated with charitable organizations like Playground of Dreams, Careers Australia, Best Buddies, Aviva Safe House, NoH8, Green IT, and She Sessions, among others.

VASSY’s new dance single “Concrete Heart” will be released to all digital streaming platforms on March 15, 2019.
